Hostel Casa Ibarrola

Casa Ibarrola sits in a four-story restored townhouse on Calle del Carmen, the medieval lane that runs from the Cathedral down to the city walls. You are inside the Casco Viejo, two minutes from Plaza del Castillo by foot and one block off Calle Estafeta (the bull-run street, which matters one fortnight a year and is otherwise just a pintxos crawl).

The building has been gut-renovated and is one of the few hostels in Pamplona with air conditioning, a properly designed shared kitchen (24-hour access, dining table that seats eight), and an actual games room with board games and a flat-screen rather than a forgotten ping-pong table in a corridor. Adults-only means no school groups, no families with toddlers — the median guest is a Camino pilgrim or a 25–45 backpacker, and the building stays quiet enough that the Cathedral bells are the loudest sound after 11pm.

Dorms are 4-bed and 6-bed mixed, all with under-bed lockers, individual reading lights, and curtains. There are no female-only dorms — the trade-off for adults-only sourced from a curated booking flow. A handful of private twins and doubles share bathrooms on the same floor; bring a small padlock or buy one at reception for €3.

The right call if you want the highest rating in Pamplona, an adults-only quiet policy, and the most central old-town address — and you don't need a hostel bar or in-house events. Aloha Hostel is louder and more social; Plaza Catedral is right next to the cathedral itself; Iruñako is the budget pick. Casa Ibarrola is the polished one.
